Let me tell you how it all began. I had been doing customized blogger designs before as a hobby. Nothing really serious. I signed up in Blogger to try out blogging, but ended up tweaking my own designs so much that I never really get to blog at all. I got tired of Blogger, made a big move – buy my own domain.
I started Flutter Happy in May 2010 – that’s more than one year ago. When you’ll try and see in my archives that earlier posts were dated July 2010 and not May. I got some posts deleted for some reason. I felt I’ve never really given much thought to what I wrote in the first few months. Anyway, it’s been more than a year of blogging, and I’m so glad at what I’ve accomplished. And let me tell you some of the reasons why I’ve grown to love blogging.
- I love reading blogs. I used to read books a lot, and I mean a lot. But when I started blogging, reading books became reading blogs. It’s nice to lose yourself in a blog you love and can relate to. Now, I always had to start my Moby Dick classic from the very beginning. *sigh*
- I love coding. When I have a blog to maintain like this one, coding is bliss. What can I say? I’m a geek.
- I love meeting new people and discovering new stuff.
- It helped me to write again. I rarely write after I got out from college. Never really my thing. Before, I write because I have to. Now, I write because I want to.
- I’ve become more social. It’s just recently that I’ve started to comment on other blogs. Before, I’m just a reader – a blog lurker to be more exact – the one that reads but never really comment.
- It’s a fun way of sharing pictures. Ooh yeah. There’s nothing I love more (besides the content) than blogs with lots of pictures.
- For self-expression. The obvious. You can rant, write anything that you want because it’s your blog.
- It’s more fun than FaceBook. I’ve noticed I haven’t been on FB much playing Sorority Life, and Farmville.
What about you? Why do you love blogging?

I totally agree! I love blogging because I’ve had so much fun myself, it’s a place where I can write and explore the depths of my own mind. I have made amazing friends, many of us who have wrote letters to one another or sent each other gifts and packages! I also constantly am playing with my design, which means I am more self-taught in HTML than I was before. And so much more. I love sharing my little life and writing and making friends. It’s so perfect!
Plus, I can do more. I can support causes and people, especially independent artists and my favorite companies!
I love meeting new people and learning new ways of doing an old trade, sewing. I initially started as an outlet for my business. I now find it’s more about the people then the business. I like sharing all things with others. It’s fun and educational.

It is a fun way of sharing pictures, definitely!
Logging thoughts and images on the site makes for a living photo (and memory) album. Incomparable!
In addition, it helps me stay focused on self-imposed goals: once I share and start documenting a project “in public” it becomes a matter of principle to see the thing to the end.
Thank you for coming by earlier!
I’m revisiting the game, actually: it’s as much fun now as it was 10 years ago!
i pretty much agree with all the reason why you love to blog… it’s fun to interact with all kinds of people, to have a journal, to share…. i am so glad i started blogging! :)
I feel the same way and love blogging for many of the same reasons you do. I love writing, love connecting with new people, and love design. I’m still working on the coding but have enjoyed the little I’ve learned. And I did a similar post several months ago if you want to check it out: http://mysocalleddenver.blogspot.com/2011/05/10-things-i-love-about-blogging.html
I agree doing blogging is really fun to interact with some other people.I love sharing to some others and educational. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree! I am a bit shy actually and I find the sharing through a blog has introduced me to people I would never meet otherwise. There are no boundaries of age, gender or nationality. I love reading and snooping in other blogs and I love preparing and thinking about sharing my own thoughts and creativity, however simple or small with all of you! hanks for that post it got me thinking….
It is impowsible not to agree to this!!
Blogging is more than just writing and writing, it is about sharring with love your personal stories. (:
I used to be a blog lurker…. now… I am not!
